You can use the House Builder Wizard to quickly create a basic structure. This structure will contain exterior walls, a floor and a roof. You can then use this basic design later to add additional elements, such as windows, doors, interior walls, etc.
The House Builder Wizard appears each time you start HGTV home design software or start a new project. To use the wizard, please follow these steps:
- Click on the Next button to start the wizard.
- Set the "Number of Floors" to 1.
- Select the Concrete Slab option in the Foundation Type area.
- Click the Next button.
- Select the basic rectangular shape with no garage attached.
- Click the Next button.
- Enter the Length, such as 50'.
- Enter the Width, such as 25'.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Building Configuration drop-down list and select the Traditional option.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Finish button.
- Click the red close button in the top right-hand corner of the Next Steps help topic.
You have now created the basic structure for your house design. You will see a model of it in the center of the program's screen. You may want to save this project so you will not need to go through the wizard again. At this point, you can make changes to your model to add interior walls, doors, windows, etc.
