To lower the double-click speed in Mac OS X:

  1. Go to the Apple menu.
  2. Go to System Preferences.
  3. Double-click the "Keyboard and Mouse icon.
  4. Select the Mouse tab.
  5. Set the "Double-Click" to "Slow".
  6. Close the window.
