It has been our experience that most disc read errors can be solved by cleaning the CD-ROM with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol. Wipe from the center of the disc outward; do not wipe in a circular motion. This is true even for "fresh-out-of-the-box" discs which sometimes have a layer of fine dust from the packaging.

Also, reading problems such as those you describe usually occur on drives of 16x and higher. Because they are spinning at a rate of high speed, any slight warpage on the CDs could result in the disc being misread by the CD-ROM drive.

If cleaning does not solve the issue and it appears to be "spinning" in the drive, then you should submit a ticket to Technical Support for a replacement or disk exchange.
